Terms of Service and Privacy Information
Last updated 22 October 2019.
Here is some information on the Hive Initiative’s website Terms of Service and information on privacy.
The Hive Initiative has a website(www.hiveinitiative.org) whose focus is to provide tools and information that will allow common workers to take climate action in their daily work.
Registration and Data Use
We allow new participants to register with us through our Participate page, where we ask for a name, an email address and an open field to tell us more about the country of location and field of work. This data is used solely by us so we can understand who our participants are and where they are working from, so we can further assist in helping them take climate action. We value privacy and do not share this information with any 3rd parties.
We also use 3rd party software (Google Analytics) to understand our audience and monitor our site traffic.
Upon registration, users are given an introductory email that gives more information on how to participate in the initiative, including a link to join The Hive Initiative’s Slack workspace. In the future, we may send emails to this email address when there are updates to any part of our service. Users can unsubscribe from emails by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the email.
Links to Other Websites
Our service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Hive Initiative.
The Hive Initiative has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party web sites or services. By using our site, you agree that we are not responsible or liable (either indirectly or directly) for any damage or loss caused with use of any third-party content, goods or services.
A user may request a tool to be made for the Tools section or submit their own. When new participant-authored tools are submitted, they are linked to the author. Edits to the publication of a tool (including removal) can be made by writing us at email@example.com.
If a user does not want us to hold their data anymore, they may write us at firstname.lastname@example.org and request to be deleted, which will reach our maintenance team. A member of the maintenance team will then permanently erase all data.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will notify all users at least 10 days prior to a new Term taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at email@example.com.
